Firth Rixson River Don
Closed Die Forgings
River Don produces hammer forgings that serve the Aero, Mining and Commercial Markets. The site is equipped with a range of Drop Stamps from 3 Tonne to 12 Tonne as well as a 42 MT Counterblow Hammer.
The site supplies forged products from 3kg to 1400kg in weight, from 150mm to 1000mm in diameter and up to 3000mm in length, in materials such as:
- Stainless Steel
- Carbon Steel
- Nickel Superalloys
- Titanium Alloys
As well as, providing in house die making facilities and complex/asymmetric shapes.
Rings
Additionally, River Don produces seamless rings and complex shaped forgings in special steel, nickel and titanium based alloys, utilizing a 160 ton radial mill and open-die forging equipment. Profiled rings up to 700kg, in diameters from 130 mm to 1750 mm, are a specialty of this unit.
